Document legalization
In order for a public document issued in a foreign state to have the force of a public document in Lithuania, this shall be legalized or certified with the Apostille. Documents issued in Latvia, Estonia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine are not required any additional authentications.
The embassy in Latvia does not certify documents with the Apostille.
The embassy can legalise the document issued in a foreign country which has not joined the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Documents of 5 October 1961, after their authentications by the diplomatic/consular mission of the relevant country.
