As of 1 September 2020 documents on citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania can be submitted only through the electronic system MIGRIS directly to the Migration Department under the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania (https://www.migracija.lt/noriu-tapti-lr-pilie%C4%8Diu). The Embassy in Riga will cease acceptance of the documents starting from the aforementioned date.

Documents on citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania can be submitted upon arrival directly to:

Diplomatic missions or consular posts of the Republic of Lithuania.
the territorial division of the Migration Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania;
Other ways.

Foreign nationals and legal entities when requesting documents from the Lithuanian state archives, state or municipal institutions or companies, must apply to these institutions directly and not through the diplomatic representations and consular offices of the Republic of Lithuania.
