Welcome to visit Western Lithuania representing Stand No H21 on 5-7 February at "Balttour 2016" in Riga
Cozy cities and towns, villages in natural sanctuaries, visually delightful landscapes that inspire imagination, complicated though interesting millennial history of the land of the Lithuanians and Samogitians, unique culture preserved through the ages, old cherished values and traditions, warm and friendly people. All of this and more spectacular and interesting things you could discover in the Lithuanian seaside – the land of four waters, washed by the waves of the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. This region is the most important summer recreation region of Lithuania.
In spite of a short seashore (99 kilometers), Lithuania surely has much to offer. The region's largest center - Klaipėda. This is the only Lithuanian port city and the oldest city in Lithuania, founded in 1252. In the north of Lithuania there is the “flagship” Palanga offering a plenty of funfairs, entertainment activities and cultural events. Closer to the Latvian border there a small resort town Šventoji having the image of a family resort. The Curonian Spit has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site – a real miracle created by sand, wind and people between two bodies of water. The eastern coasts of the Curonian Lagoon are completely different. The fishing delta on the Nemunas fascinates visitors with the beauty of its lush wild nature, fauna and nearby fishing villages, smells of smoked fish. In Western Lithuania you will find sacred city – Kretinga and the capital of the stones - Skuodas.
The Lithuanian seaside is pleased to offer tourism news for the guests and its residents. The Lithuanian Sea Museum invites visitors to a renewed dolphinarium. A Dinosaur Park presents the biggest news of the season - an upside-down house. The rebuilt castle, the castle museum with a new conference centre will soon be opened in Klaipėda. Last November the largest recreation and wellness centre "Holiday Park" in Western Lithuania started its activities. A new circular route for pedestrians and cyclists around the Curonian Lagoon from the south of Juodkrante to the nesting sites of gray herons and cormorants will be opened in spring this year. Palanga resort will meet its guests with a new cultural object - a multifunctional concert hall, working all year round and suitable for a variety of concerts and festivals.
Seeing you at our Stand No H21. Sincerely yours - Lithuanian Seaside. For more information, please visit the website of Klaipėda District Tourism Information Centre.
