The screening of the Lithuanian documentary film on Russia’s information aggression held in Riga

The screening of the documentary film ‘War 2020 Russia’s Information Aggression’ by the Lithuanian filmmakers Martynas Starkus and Jonas Banys was held at the EU House in Riga on 20 April. The film was followed by a discussion moderated by Viktors Makarovs, Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia. As the speakers to this discussion were invited prof. Valdas Rakutis of the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania and Advisor of the Chief of the Defence of Lithuania, prof. Gintautas Mažeikis of Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania, Vineta Mēkone, Staff Officer of NATO StratCom COE and prof. Žaneta Ozoliņa of the University of Latvia.

The guests were welcomed by Inna Šteinbuka, Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Latvia and Ričardas Degutis, Ambassador of Lithuania to Latvia. The event was attended by the representatives of the Latvian state institutions, academia, non-governmental organizations, media, students from the University of Latvia and Stockholm School of Economics in Riga as well as by members of the diplomatic community in Riga.

The event was co-organized by the Lithuanian Embassy in Riga and the Representation of the European Commission in Latvia.
