Textile and Fashion Fair in Riga : clear indication of growing interest of Lithuanian companies in the Latvian market
This year 32 Lithuanian companies will participate in the International Textile Industry Fair "Baltic Fashion & Textile Riga 2016” which will be held at Kipsala Exhibition Centre in Riga on 7-9 April 2016. They will present a great variety of textile and apparel products ranging from sewing accessories to fashion products.
Lithuanian apparel and textile sector today employs around 30 thousand people. This is an export oriented industrial sector exporting more than 85% of its production for the time being. Exports to Latvia account around 3% of total export volume of the Lithuanian apparel and textile sector. Latvian market is a top priority market for a number of the Lithuanian fashion and textile companies in opening new sales points and exploring new market potentials in Baltics.
The Lithuanian companies will present a wide range of apparel and textile products in the National Pavilion, organized by the Lithuanian Apparel and Textile Industry Association LATIA. Participating in the exhibition companies – “Kvarkas”, “Decoflux”, “Urtė”, “A Grupe” , “Naturali tekstilė“ and “MK Tekstilė” will present home textile items, while others, like “Textilis”, “Rudholmas”, “Mega Euro Group” and “Algirdas Valiuškis Company”, “Guminukas” are distributors of sewing accessories and fabrics. “Sabalin” is an internationally recognised footwear manufacturer and big group of the Lithuanian clothing manufacturers like “Dešimtas Teksas”, “Zina Knitting”, “Sidabrinis smėlis”, “Lorita” and others will present clothing for all type of consumers ranging from babywear to fashionable womenswear. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the promotional and professional wear presented by the company “Vitameda”, fabulous jewellery by the company “Raudona”, amazing fur products will be presented by companies “Šilta mada” and “EJ projektai”, etc.
“Such a numerous participation of the Lithuanian companies in the "Baltic Fashion & Textile Riga 2016” Fair not just indicates their growing interest in the Latvian market but also fosters the cooperation in the entire Baltic region thus enabling the Baltic States companies to be more visible internationally”, – says Vidmantas Vikšraitis, Vice-President of the Lithuanian Apparel and Textile Industry Association LATIA. He adds that only joined efforts of all textile and apparel businesses in the Baltic States can be effective tool to company in a rapidly changing global market of textile and apparel products.
