Embassy of Lithuania organized the meeting of Nordic and Baltic States' ambassadors with Defence Minister of Latvia
On November 28, 2017, Embassy of Lithuania in Latvia has initiated the meeting of Nordic and Baltic States ambassadors in Riga with Latvian Defence Minister Raimonds Bergmanis. Participant of the meeting shared the positions regarding security in the Baltic Sea region, discussed the main issues of NATO agenda as well as the cooperation in the field of security and defence in the EU.
In the opening remarks Ambassador of Lithuania Artūras Žurauskas noted, that issues of security and defence are becoming more important in the national political agendas as well as in the regional and international cooperation context. Therefore, close regional cooperation becoming more relevant.
Minister R. Bergmanis has informed about Latvian priorities in the field of defence and the main interests in NATO and the EU cooperation.
