On 25 September, at the UN Human Rights Council, the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine presented information about the numerous human rights violations caused by Russia’s war against Ukraine.

In this discussion, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis delivered a joint statement on behalf of the Nordic-Baltic (NB8) countries, condemning the impacts of Russia’s 19-month-old aggression against Ukraine on the human rights situation. A joint statement by Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland expresses concerns about Russia’s ongoing deliberate torture, killing, sexual violence and destroying Ukrainian civilians’ vital civilian infrastructure.
